DETAILED DESCRIPTION:
Day 1: Arrival in Tanzania
Arrive at Kilimanjaro Airport (JRO) Tanzania. Upon arrival, you will be met outside customs area by Deus and driven to Arusha for an overnight stay at Arusha Coffee Lodge (BB) or place similar.

Day 2: This is a day to relax and enjoy the surroundings. Arrangements can be made for a town tour, shopping, (this will give you the option to shop for souvenirs, woodcarvings, fabric and Tanzanite) and coffee tour.
Dinner and Overnight at Arusha Coffee Lodge (BLD) or similar.
Day 3: Tarangire National Park
Drive to Tarangire National Park, which is known for great herds of elephants and is also the largest concentration of wildlife outside the Serengeti ecosystem. Spend your day on a game drive in search of dry- country antelope such as the stately fringe-eared Oryx, peculiar long-necked gerenuk and the large elephant population. The swamps, tinged green year round, are the focus for 500 birds varieties, the most breeding species in one habitat anywhere in the world.

Day 4: Tarangire to Kitela Lodge

Day 5: Ngorongoro Crater
After an early breakfast we will depart to the Ngorongoro Crater for early morning game drive. The Ngorongoro Crater is a world heritage site, the world’s largest intact volcanic caldera and is commonly referred to as the 8th wonder of the world. The 2,000 feet high walls of the approximately 10 miles wide crater form a natural amphitheater for the densest population of large animals anywhere. It is a microcosm of the vast Serengeti National Park and in one day it is possible to see a staggering array of East Africa wildlife including the rare black rhino and massive bull elephants. The Crater is truly awe-inspiring and will surely be one of the highlights of your safari.
Return to KITELA LODGE for dinner and overnight.
Day 6: FAME, MAASAI and OLDUVAI GORGE After breakfast you will depart to visit FAME Africa. A medical project in Karatu, run by an American doctor. Beyond Adventures is a supporter of this project and Dr. Frank Artress. www.fameafrica.org

After visiting FAME depart to Central Serengeti, you will stop at a Maasai Village for cultural interaction then head out to visit Olduvai Gorge, where Louis and Mary Leakey unearthed remarkable fossils in the 1950s that changed our understanding of human evolution. Game viewing in the Serengeti en-route to your camp.

Day 7: Central Serengeti Game viewing in the Central Serengeti exploring the resident animals along the Seronera River and other areas. Dinner and Overnight: at Kati Kati (FB) or Similar.
Day 8 & 9: Western Corridor Serengeti: After breakfast on day 8 depart to the Western Corridor of the Serengeti. Day 8 & 9 will be 2 full game-viewing days in the Western Corridor in the morning and afternoon.

Day 10: Serengeti Departure/ Travel to Zanzibar. Fly from the Serengeti to Zanzibar. Upon arrival in Zanzibar, will you be met by your guide and transported to your hotel. Head out for a tour of Stone Town, the slave market and a spice tour.

Day 11, 12 & 13: The next 3 days will be spent on the lovely beaches of Zanzibar. A number of water activities can be arranged through the hotel reception.

Day 14: Check out of your room before 11:00a.m. Depending on your flight schedule and departure point you will be transferred to the Zanzibar Airport for your flight to Dar es Salaam or Kilimanjaro airport. If you have a late international flight, a dayroom can be arranged in Arusha until you board your flight.
